Monthly Seminars – June 2016

In spite of a highly active season, we’re so pleased that our association members still find time to attend our monthly seminars! In June, SAGA in cooperation with Georgian National Library hosted a seminar about local Georgian grape varieties and traditional Georgian viticulture, which was lead by Nikoloz Natroshvili (Head of Alco-laboratory in GWS wine factory).

What makes Georgia so special?.. –Most commonly the answers are wine, cuisine, cultural heritage, traditions and landscape. Of course – Landscape!

An incredible part of Georgia’s Landscape are its caves. The study of caves in Georgia, scientifically known as Speleology, was topic of our monthly seminars in July!

Georgia - winner to host the 18th WFTGA Convention, August, 2017

After the Convention in Iran, Georgian Guides Association is working hard to make WFTGA Convention of 2019 truly memorable, interesting and entertaining for you!
In August 2017 WFTGA ExBO came to Georgia for working purposes. During their stay in Georgia they visited Convention pre-tour destinations and met the working team of Convention 2019 as well as Georgian National Tourism Administration.

18th WFTGA Convention, Tbilisi, Georgia, January 2019

SAGA has succsesfully hosted 18th WFTGA Convention, Tbilisi, Georgia 2019, right of which we won in Tehran, Iran, in 2017 with competitors such as New York and Thailand.

Communication Seminar and Professional Skills of Tourist Guiding, 3 days training program in Kutaisi, February 2020

The Georgian Association of Guides implemented an intensive 3-day training program of communication and professional skills for guides from Kutaisi, which was attended by local practicing guides, in order to increase their qualifications and improve their professional skills.

In February 2020, Georgian Association of Guides conducted a series of 3-day free training in Communication and Guiding skills development for practicing guides.

SAGA activities during the pandemic and series of online lectures

Georgian Association of Guides has implemented many activities to support guides during the pandemic. In addition to petitioning the state, in order to make staying at home more productive and interesting during the pandemic, SAGA has implemented a series of free online lectures regarding many interesting and relevant topics.

Guides School in Kutaisi - September 2020

In the summer of 2020, the joint project "Guide School" of DMO Imereti and the Association of Guides of Georgia was successfully implemented for the first time.

Guidebook "Tbilisi Guide" - December, 2021

​At the end of 2021, the academic staff of the Georgian Association of Guides and the School of Guides "Newkaz" has completed working on a guidebook called "Tbilisi Guide".

Tbilisi Guide, 1 Week Training Program - June 2022

In connection with the issuance of Tbilisi Guide guidebook, on June 13-25, pilot of professional skills training was organized with the support of Tbilisi City Hall, by the Georgian Association of Guides and Tourism Academy Newkaz, in which both beginners and experienced guides participated free of charge.
